How would you describe your company? What is the added value/specificity of your business model?

Dataiku develops a collaborative platform for Data Science. It enables small and major companies to accelerate the creation of value from data.

Our smallest clients use Dataiku to find their first success in Data Science within just a few weeks instead of a few months. Our largest clients use Dataiku to scale up their teams from a dozen to some hundred people.

How did your project come into being? What main difficulties did you encounter when you set it up?

Our project was born from our frustration with companies’ inability to run a data strategy, and the feeling that the time was right to offer something new in the field.

What were the main key factors to your company’s success?

We very quickly developed a product that was within the market’s expectations, and within one year we had found some major clients.

What are your recommendations, as an entrepreneur, when raising funds?

Ask yourself why you are doing it… and get a good lawyer!

What did you do prior to becoming an entrepreneur? Would you say that deep down you have always been an entrepreneur, or did it come with time?

I have always worked in startups. Having watched startups fail, grow, succeed helped me understand how a company could live or die.

The idea of building something comes quite naturally to me. The fact that it was a company may be a coincidence.

In your opinion, what are the key reasons for the success of a startup?

The technical ability to develop a product, and know how to make it change for the better. Daring to put in on the market and scream its name.

What advice would you give to young entrepreneurs?

Make sure you have the right people around you.
